The 2nd meeting of the Urgench State University Council was held.


Today, the 2nd meeting of the Council of Urgench State University was held. The meeting was organized under the chairmanship of the University Rector, Feruza Madrahimova, with the participation of the Council members.

At the meeting, vice-rectors presented information and reports on the items on the agenda, and important areas of the university’s activities were discussed.

During the meeting, particular attention was paid to the implementation of the priority tasks set for the higher education system at the meeting with teachers and mentors held on September 30 under the chairmanship of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev. In particular, issues related to introducing dual education in higher education based on a new approach and the “enterprise – university – targeted specialist” principle, further strengthening cooperation with manufacturing enterprises, and aligning the educational process with the needs of the labor market were discussed.

The development of Spin-off enterprises, as well as the status of implementation of the established target indicators in the educational, scientific, and international areas, was also analyzed. Particular attention was also paid to the tasks that need to be carried out to expand cooperation with foreign universities and specialists, create at least 50 modern textbooks annually in cooperation with authors of foreign literature, and adapt advanced foreign educational literature to the educational process.

In addition, the “Roadmap” aimed at improving the university’s activities in 2026, as well as the work carried out within the framework of the target indicators in the educational and methodological area, were reviewed by departments, with particular attention paid to ensuring the quality of education, effectively organizing the educational process, and eliminating existing shortcomings.

During the meeting, issues of preparing the university’s educational programs for state accreditation and effectively organizing internal evaluation processes, developing the activities of scientific laboratories and incubation centers, implementing research results in practice, as well as providing graduates with suitable employment opportunities, were also discussed in detail.

Regarding each issue discussed, University Rector Feruza Madrahimova expressed her critical and analytical views and assigned specific tasks and relevant instructions to responsible officials to ensure the effectiveness of the designated tasks, eliminate identified shortcomings, and strengthen executive discipline.
