The opening ceremony of the CIMPA summer school was held

The Rector of Urgench State University, Bakhrom Abdullayev, gave a speech and said that he was very pleased that Urgench State University hosted such a high-level scientific conference. "Welcome to Al-Khorazmi and the homeland of mathematics! I believe that this school will be of a high level and interesting," he said and expressed his gratitude to the foreign scientists who came to give lectures.

After that, Christophe Ritzenthaler, director of CIMPA organization, and Zafar Ibragimov, project coordinator, vice-rector of UrSU, spoke about the purpose and tasks of the 2-week project, future prospects.

Number theory is one of the underdeveloped areas of mathematics in Uzbekistan. The goal of this summer school, which is organized every year in a traditional way, is aimed at the development of this field. The world's leading number theory scientists were invited from the USA, the European Union and Russia. After the opening ceremony, the first speaker of the school, René Schoof, professor of the University of Rome, Italy, started the number theory classes.

At the moment, the audience of young scientists and researchers are enjoying the professor's lecture.
