On July 26, Rector of Urgench State University Bakhrom Abdullayev and Vice-Rector for International Cooperation Gairat O'razboyev visited the partner Astrakhan State University of Russia. 

First, a meeting was held with the leadership of Astrakhan State University. At the meeting, Rector B.Abdullayev spoke about further strengthening of cooperation relations and expressed his desire to expand some exchange programs, as well as to receive professors and teachers of Astrakhan State University in Urgench State University for giving lectures and exchanging knowledge. Rector of Astrakhan State University Igor Alekseev recognized the results of joint activities and expressed his readiness for new stages of cooperation. The experience of implementing the double diploma program was also discussed at the meeting.

Also, the employees of Astrakhan State University offered to carry out joint scientific activities to create new varieties of plants and combat desertification. It is worth mentioning that the universities have great promising experience in cooperation in such fields as ecology, environmental management and preservation of biological diversity.
