Today, the process of international accreditation of educational programs by Germany’s ACQUIN (Akkreditierungs-, Certifizierungs- und Qualitätssicherungs-Institut) began at Urgench State University named after Abu Rayhon Biruni.

Within this process, the university’s 9 educational programsEconomics (bachelor’s and master’s degrees), Accounting (bachelor’s degree), Marketing (bachelor’s and master’s degrees), Tourism and Hospitality (bachelor’s degree), Food Technology (bachelor’s and master’s degrees), and Technology of Storage and Processing of Agricultural Products (bachelor’s degree) — will be evaluated by international experts.

In this regard, ACQUIN program manager Janine Igl and international experts — Damon Mohebbi, a representative of the University of Oxford in the United Kingdom, and Prof. Dr. Arash Sadeghi Mehr, professor at Trier University of Applied Sciences in Germany — visited the university today. The guests were warmly welcomed by the university administration.

Following this, an official meeting was held with the participation of the university rector, Feruza Madrahimova. During the meeting, the participants discussed the organizational aspects of the international accreditation visit scheduled for July 2–3, the effective organization of the experts’ activities, and the visit program. Dilmurod Maxmarejabov, Chief Inspector of the National Agency for Quality Assurance in Education, is participating in the process as an observer.

During the visit, international accreditation experts visited the Faculty of Chemical Technology. The experts closely familiarized themselves with the modern educational and scientific laboratories specializing in Food Safety, Technology of Meat and Meat Products, Technology of Oils and Fats, Technology of Dairy Products, and Technology of Storage and Processing of Agricultural Products.

In addition, the scientific developments, innovative projects, and practical works of professors, teachers, and researchers displayed in the faculty foyer aroused great interest among the experts.

Afterwards, the international experts visited the Urgench Innovation Technopark under the university, where they were introduced to the activities of production workshops for milk and dairy products, bread and confectionery products, meat and meat products, and canned products.
