The department was founded in 1997 under the name "Management and Marketing", and is currently headed by Behzod Koziboyev Hamidovich, Doctor of Philosophy in Economics. Today, the Department of Economics employs 2 doctors of science, professors, 2 candidates of science, associate professors, 18 PhDs, associate professors, 1 senior lecturer, and 8 teachers.
