The scientific potential of the chair of the Uzbek literature is 90,9%. Professors and teachers of the department are engaged in research work in two directions: 
1. The role of Khorezm literary media in the development of Uzbek literature. 
2. Khorezm oral and written literary sources. 
At the department there is a regular scientific and theoretical seminar. The scientific works published by professors and teachers of the department are as follows: 
1. Salomat Matkarimova - Candidate of philological sciences, docent.She has published more than 70 articles, 3 teaching-methodical manuals, monograph "Tabibiy-tazkiranavis".
2. Safarboy Ruzimboev – doctor of philological sciences, professor. He has popularized the popular "Gurghli" and "Oshik" poems in the Khorezm oasis from among the people and published manuscripts. At present, he has published 16 volumes of "Gurghli" category, and more than 20 poems of "Oshiq" series, 6 volumes. Under the guidance of 10 researchers defended their candidate's dissertation. He has opposed more than 10 doctoral and candidate dissertations. He is the author of more than 20 scientific articles and over 20 monographs and books. 

3. Dilshod Gayipov - Candidate of philological sciences, docent. Published more than 80 articles, 1 monograph, 1 scientific pamphlet, 2 teaching-methodical manuals. Ogahi's "Ta'zizu-l-oshiqin" (co-operative), prepared for the publication of the book "Jamal's Dream" consisting of Otaniyaz Niyazi's poems. 
   4. Sanat Sariyev - Candidate of Philology, docent. He published 90 articles, 1 monograph, 4 teaching aids, 1 methodical recommendation.
4. Manzura Pirnazarova - Candidate of philological sciences, docent. Published more than 60 articles, 1 monographs. 
   6. Bekposhsha Rakhimova - Candidate of philological sciences, docent. She published 79 articles 1 monograph, 2 teaching-methodical manual, 1 brochure, and the epic "Filmahmud" for publication. 
   7. Nasiba Jumaniyazova - Candidate of philological sciences, f.docent`s d. She published 45 articles and 2 manuals. 
   8. Saida Kurbanova - Candidate of philological sciences, f.docent`s d. Published 51 articles, 1 monograph, 1 educational and methodical manual.
5. Mohigul Yuldasheva - Candidate of philological sciences, f.docent`s d. Published 45 articles, 1 monograph, 5 scientific-practical, methodical manuals. 
   10. Iskhak Ismoilov - Candidate of Philological Sciences, f.docent`s d. He published 68 articles, 1 monograph, 1 manual, 1 scientific and popular booklet. 
   11. Sarvar Atajanov - teacher. Published 20 articles.
